No, champagne is not only produced by brands as many have come to believe, the proof lies in the recent virtuous rise in popularity of many petits vignerons in the Champagne region. Producers such as Jacques Selosse are at the head of a breakout group of small producers making excellent champagne first and foremost, while the global brands charge excessively for their haute couture labels. We have chosen around a dozen producers that produce champagne specific to their terroir. Unfortunately, while this ensures champagne of irreproachable quality, the quantity is strictly limited when compared to the mastodons that are Moët & Chandon, Veuve Cliquot, and company… We also have selected several larger producers that, in our opinion, still propose great champagne at good prices. There are obviously several big names missing that, according to our personal philosophy, no longer belong to the world of wine as we see it. That said, our view is completely subjective, and while you may not agree 100%, we invite you to taste and enjoy this champagne that radiates the terroir from hence it came.
